I was thinking the exact same thing! I was just talking to a friend about this exact thing...wondering WTF ??? Who are the 12,000 supposed people who vote and how do they "obtain" them?

AND I have to wonder about the music industry today. Out of respect for all artists, its hard to criticize something so personal....they are all giving a piece of their heart to us...so forgive me if I offend anyone.....but I just think a lot of the top 40s pop stuff sounds so similar...so "cookie cutter". Are the artists not putting enough of their "heart" into it? Are the songs being put together by 15 different people and they are just representing it? Are they really pouring their soul into their art?

I look at artists like John Mayer (love ya baby!) who write meaningful lyrics, create a great sound/melody and who aren't scared to throw themselves TOTALLY into their creation......and you know why they aren't scared...????Because they are artists doing their craft....doing their "thing" that they love......The true artists are the ones who realize the industry is PUSHING them around to sound or be a certain way/image AND that THEY AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE TO ACCOMODATE THIS!

Staying true to your heart will never lead you down the wrong path......
